Código Bushido is the project of David García Máñez: songwriter rock that follows the seven principles of the samurai code, one album for each virtue.
David García Máñez was born in San Sebastián in 1981. He started writing and recording his own songs at a very young age and, after playing in several bands, founded El Último Salto, releasing his first album, Ya está bien (2009).
That same year he won the national TV show La batalla de los coros (Cuatro), working under Mikel Erentxun. A close friendship was born: Mikel and his guitarist Rubén Caballero produced his first demo, and soon after they recorded “Escrito a Fuego” together.
Fascinated by Japanese culture, David adopted the seven principles of Bushido as his motto in life and art, and Código Bushido was born: seven albums, one for each virtue. Cien Flechas (2013), the album of Justice, was recorded in San Sebastián with Mikel Erentxun’s band and launched at the Teatro Victoria Eugenia in front of more than three hundred people.
Fractales (2022), the album of Courage, was written in Tokyo and premiered first in Mexico, with a sold-out Foro del Tejedor. Stages such as Sonorama Ribera, Cooltural Fest, Kutxa Kultur Festibala and Festival Tempo in Girona followed. In 2025 he released Multiverso, the album of Benevolence, produced by Fermín Bouza at Estudios 54.
“Music must be slow-cooked. This is the third of seven albums I plan to record, like the seven virtues of the Bushido code. It is my way of life.” The fourth virtue is already recorded.
